I can't believe that coder like Insomniac ripped, but code doesn't lie:

http://www.intro-inferno.com/production.php?id=1943

Insomniac admited in nfo file that he optimized somebody else's code, but does it allow to say that Insomniac is an author? Main code is exactly the same.

And it is not one rip from Project's intro, another here:

But this one has at least honest name.

In this case, the code dropped from 165 to 128 putting it in a new category. I think that shows Insomniacs logic here. Lets face it, at this size, the skill is in the bytes. I'm inclined to say its ok as he mentions in the nfo

Let's see nfo file more precisely: in "Demo-info" section there is a small mention about optimizing not own code, and "Credits" section looks very unfair. In fact this inro is very unfair for me. I also can take any old one code of small intro, optimize it 20-30 bytes down, even to new category (I can do it very well, trust me), and release it as production from Pirx/ind. Would it be OK?

For me...yes, as long as you indicate your source. For me.

For me... no. In this case - DEFINITELY NO. I'm not an enemy of size optimizing somebody's else code, but it should be done with a feeling for the situation.

PAL intro also isn't originally from Bushy, but he optimized code hard - from 1027 bytes (or 3500, info are conflicting) to 256 bytes to get really new code-size-quality, and he didn't say it's HIS OWN prod, he clearly marked it. Insomniac's optimizations: it's only using different sin/cos calc algorithm, also not him, and omiting exit possibility. Optimization?
