Not the most exciting thing I've seen lately. Seems like rotating object and 3d starfield is as good as it gets. Logo was not my cupa tea. Text writer was ok but been done before. Would like to see more original things done. Looks like it was thrown together quickly.

utterly annoying tune and the "starfield" is very ugly and doesn't fit as all. the logo is not very good either (as usual). textwriter is nice and the font by hof still rocks. nice intro but nothing special at all.

Nice. I like it, nothing special here but it is still keeping that oldskool vibe alive.
I dont want to see I-I turn into some place were everything that does not contain some new sparkling shock factor routine is criticized to a point that the makers feel unappreciated. We already have a website that does that job well :P
Nothing special but if it reminds us of the past and inspires others to relive the past, then job well done.

"Damn i must have clicked www.pouet.net. oh no i got the right place , looks like pouet users are drifing over :("

So CoDeMan, as you most probably mean me here, tell me, what is wromg with my comment? Yes, I could have written "superb intro, the best I've ever seen, it totally rocks" and then you probably would have been happy. The fact that I gave honest feedback is wrong in your opinion which is, sorry to say, ridiculous and childish. And the fact that it is a cracktro doesn't mean that there's no need for quality (which I never said about this intro, don't misunderstand please). Check Amiga cracktros and you might know what I mean. So what do we have here:

1. a cube -> classic stuff, nothing wrong with it
2. a "starfield" that in my opinion does not fit at all because well, it just doesn't fit.
3. a logo which is not very good and I think I am not the only one with that opinion. not that I could do any better (in fact, I totally suck at anything graphics related) but it still is a very average logo at best.
4. a textwriter, which is, as I already said, pretty nice, the font by hof helps a lot here.

So in my opinion, the intro is ok but nothing special at all, thus, if we would be on pouet here, it would get the "piggy rating". And no matter how much you hate pouet (which has probably to do with the fact that the only thing you want to hear is "good, great, best I've ever seen" and fear negative critizism (if you have ever released something, that is) but that just doesn't work, neither in the scene nor in real life), everyone is entitled to have an opinion! If you don't want feedback, do NOT release anything at all, but if you do, don't complain when people have an opinion that differs from your own! Sorry for the rant but I am seriously tired of this "oh noes, we have the pouet bastards here" attitude. Grow up people!

My opinion is, people who dislike simple oldskoolish cracktros shouldnt leech and... shouldnt vote for them! I am, for example, not the biggest demofreak. Now what i could do is, get onto pouet, leech the latest 100 demos and thumb them down completely (except debris) :) ... That would be pouet.net behavior! Not because the demos are so weak, but because I personally dont like and dont care about demos at all! The screenshot of this cracktro should be enough for those people to NOT leech this production, because they can imagine its only a cube and a text! So plz, dont leech and dont vote, its just none of your business!
(Stingray, this text wasnt meant for you! :P)

Hehe don't worry, Alpha, you have a lot of valid points. But, there's one thing I don't like and that is the common "pouet == evil bastards w/o any respect" attitude here. People shouldn't generalize, sure, there are some trolls on pouet giving useless/no feedback but that's not the majority (that's my opinion at least). It somehow reminds me of the people who say "i don't fly, planes are not secure at all, look how many of them crash", they just forget to mention that there are MUCH more planes that never crashed. Yet, nobody mentions that as it's boring. Same for pouet, I only see dissing here, it's way too one-sided! And that's actually what I am tired of. It's not all black and white, 0 and 1, there's something in between as well!

@codeman get a life! What's wrong with honest constructive criticism? If i dont like something I shouldnt say so? I like to see things that are different and creative. Guess I shouldnt watch old school retreaded intros/cracktos. But Im always hoping to see something new and refreshing. Seem's like buddy voting is really the scene here. But that's ok. Some times I think some people could put out a prod with a blank screen and white noise for music and some would give it a 10 just because they are friends.

ok ok...so, please do me a favor: stop making comparaisons with pouet! It's not better here, not better there...it's simply two ways to see things!
Of course i'm kinda unhappy when seeing people voting for friendship and not for real content (even if i appreciated the votes I had for my small intros hehe), of course I hate when I see bullshit beeing said, of course I hate....

But I'd like to be sure one day you'll all stop to compare!

As stingray said (and hitch as well..) theer are a few morrons on pouet...and without any moderation that would become the same here!

Let me be honnest with all of you: i prefer a small but nice site adpated to my philosophy instead of a huge web site made of craps comments and useless users. With more than 800/900 unique visitors/days, I don't think I need more to be pleased.

I like Stingray's attitude by the way: he's honnest AND polite!
That is exactly the kind of behavior i'm enjoying!

When you comment a production, try to say your comment as you would say to a friend, not an ennemy!

And by the way, even if noone cares, i do have the biggest respect to the real ones behind Pouet. Yes, it's true!

This a general message, not to someone in particular but i wanted things to be crystal clear.

regards,
druid

Diverse opinions are fine, as long as they're adequately backed up by constructive critiscism.

Personally, I like this cracktro. Its everything a prod of this type should be, polished gfx, nice little 'oldskool' routines backed up by a cute chip. The textwriter is sweeeeet too.

Just to add... I'm a pal of the guy who drew the logo but if I thought it was crap, I'd tell him - but it looks good and fits the prod perfectly fine to me!

@Musashi9: my sentiments exactly m8.

What Stingray said, this is very average stuff.

I LOVE old cracktros on their original machine because they were good for their time and considering the machine.

Those conversions/copies without adding anything new are just average or bad in many cases.

Oh, and the Pouet attack was so retarded, I thought people could see things through those stupid pointless wars.

Baah another 2 weeks and the pouet family completely arrived on this site! A black screen with a typer and a cube is no conversion, its still a cracktro, may it be released in 1990 or in 2010! A cracktro doesnt need anymore than this ... Keops, move over to pouet and discuss demo related stuff!

That's exactly what I meant... Someone has an opinion and because it doesn't fit to the general "happy happy joy joy" attitude, you tell him to buzz off... And while the intro as such is indeed no conversion you can not deny that it is heavily Amiga inspired. So please don't nit-picky as you surely understood what Keops meant with conversion.

It certainly is Amiga inspired, I think that's the point of this cracktro (and others like it).

People can either like it or dislike it, that's thier choice. Personally I like it.

To all cracking groups... whenever you will use a simple cracktro next time, make sure it was coded on c64 / amiga or even lower machines... and deliver the emulator on your iso!

aLpHa oNe: what's your problem in the end and why should there be a problem with Pouet? Grow up already.

"Keops, move over to pouet and discuss demo related stuff!" Am I not allowed to discuss cracktros? I thought we (Equinox) started doing cracktros back in 1988 but I am probably wrong and I am probably clueless.

Learn to respect other people's opinion already and cut that retarded war with Pouet.

@Keops: "Those conversions/copies without adding anything new are just average or bad in many cases."

Isn't the main aim of any conversion/reproduction to stick the original as much as possible?

----------------

Ok, so I've done my fair share of Pouet bashing in the past so I won't bother fanning the flames anymore, but the BBS really does suck ass and it's understandable why it's facing so much shit in here. Saying that, it IS still a major resource for getting your grubby mitts on the l8est prodz, so most peeps here will still be fairly active on there.

II was and still is a breath of fresh air, so let's try and keep the BS to a minimum before it gets out of hand. Hopefully, this won't have a knock effect on productivity.

keops, a little hint, don't put more gasoline on the fire ;) Don't seem like the most wise thing to do. I get your point and i get alpha one's point, but no need to extend this to something which it isn't worth of becoming.

Oldschool or newschool, who cares if it pleases people :) and for my personal taste, i like this one. It's nothing special, but it gets the word out as it's was supposed to be, right ;P
